Quick answer
Make the red body from the chart, attach a separate head, fit a cone hat, anchor the beard, then add belt, arms and a securely sewn ribbon loop.
Read before starting
- The body has a counted starter chart. Head, hat and arms are adjustable guidance, not fully counted patterns.
- Physical sample testing is not confirmed.
- Pictured sizes are inspiration, not three graded patterns.
- The PDF and infographic differ in hooks and counts. Use the PDF body chart below; do not mix counts.
- Visuals include AI-generated imagery, not proof of tested results.
- The infographic QR code, counter and shop/video buttons are static, not verified live controls.
Size inspiration, not graded instructions
Gather your materials
- Red sari silk or a suitable smoother alternative for the body and hat
- Skin-tone or natural yarn for the head
- White linen, noil yarn or silk fiber for beard and trim
- Stuffing, tapestry needle, scissors and stitch marker
- Black belt yarn and gold thread or ribbon for an embroidered buckle
- Facial embroidery yarn and red hanging ribbon
Hook starting point: The PDF suggests 4–5 mm. The infographic suggests smaller hooks. Sample for firm stitches without stuffing gaps. No verified yarn quantity is supplied.
Local material option

Five expandable assembly steps
All step images are illustrative aids, not stitch diagrams or tested results. The head, hat and arms require sampling and adjustment.
1. Body, head and assembly
Make the body from the chart. The PDF head guidance describes increasing a small natural or skin-tone ball to about 24 stitches, working even for several rounds, lightly stuffing and decreasing closed. Exact head rounds are unspecified; test proportions.
Embroider the face or attach appropriate eyes before closure. The PDF eye spacing is ambiguous, so confirm placement on your sample. Sew the head firmly to the body. Embroidered features are preferred for this decorative project.
2. Fit the red hat
The source starts with 4–6 sc in MR and describes cone shaping using increases and plain rounds. It is not a complete counted hat pattern, and the direction wording is unclear. Test the fit rather than inventing exact rounds. Add a sewn white brim and optional pom-pom; attach securely.
3. Choose the beard
- Silk fiber: Stitch small wisps in rows below the nose.
- Noil yarn: Anchor loops or short strands row by row.
- White linen: Fold short lengths, attach into stitches and trim.
Secure every section and keep the eyes and nose visible.
4. Face, belt and arms
Embroider the face. Sew the black belt and embroider a gold buckle. The PDF describes arms as small red tubes or stuffed shapes without counts. Sample their proportions and sew them firmly in place.
5. Loop and final checks
The PDF suggests a folded 10–12 cm (3.9–4.7 in.) ribbon length, with both ends sewn securely to the hat. Confirm the assembled ornament carries its weight; do not rely on the pom-pom alone. Hide ends, inspect attachments, shape the beard and photograph an actual sample before promising size or quantities.
Troubleshooting
- Sparse beard: Add securely anchored rows.
- Wide hat: Revise shaping or hook size on your sample.
- Floppy body: Assess stitch density and stuffing; avoid overpacking.
- Hidden stitches: Use markers, count carefully or choose smoother yarn.
Safety and care
This is a decorative ornament, not a child-safe toy. Prefer embroidered features. “Safety eyes” do not make it safe for children. Keep fibers, cords, bells and small parts away from young children and pets, and keep decorations away from flames and heat.
Follow all component care labels. Spot cleaning may suit the beard and attachments; test your cleaning method on a sample first.
Keep the free tutorial beside your project

It is better suited to confident beginners who can work amigurumi increases and decreases and adjust proportions. Only the body is fully counted; head, hat and arms require sampling.
Are all three sizes written out?
No. The 12, 9 and 7 cm images are size inspiration, not three graded patterns. Finished size depends on yarn, hook and tension.
Is there a working video or counter?
No verified working video or counter is supplied here. The infographic’s QR code, counter and shop/video buttons are static visuals, not verified live controls.
Can children play with it?
No. Treat it as a decoration, not a child-safe toy. Loose fibers, cords and small attachments must be kept away from young children and pets.
